HoC Loves // William Egglestone

William Eggleston first experimented with colour photography in 1965 using Canon and Leica cameras. Initially his primary medium was colour transparency film, Eggleston being credited with having made a huge contribution towards its validation as an accepted art form. He then moved on to discover dye-transfer printing and started using it extensively, partly because of the brilliant colour saturation it creates. His works take everyday objects and subject matter and refines them through these processes into beautiful works of art.
